State park official says High Bridge Trail expansion to Burkeville remains a priority

Jordan emphasized tourism and economic benefits, citing a Longwood economic estimate staff uses to model visitor spending. "We are 32.2 miles long," Jordan said, and later noted that recent studies estimate roughly "$14,000,000 that is injected into this community" from trail‑related visitation. He asked the board to remain engaged as the park pursues the necessary property and permitting steps to reach Burkeville and discussed options for local parking and trailhead access.
