Bedford issues drought advisory, urges reduced outdoor water use

Town Manager Rick Sawyer told the Bedford Town Council that drought conditions in New Hampshire had intensified and that 63% of the state had been categorized as abnormally dry or worse; Bedford itself was categorized as moderate drought.
Mr. Sawyer urged residents to limit outdoor water use: "limit watering to 8pm-7am, water every other day at most, suspend power washing, washing cars, and washing surfaces." He also listed other seasonal items in his manager’s report, including pool and splash pad hours, seasonal pass prices and the Summer Concert Series schedule. The advisory is advisory guidance for residents; the council did not enact mandatory restrictions at the meeting.
