Commissioners approve moving forward with amended YCDA site-availability website contract

Jonathan Smith of the Yakima County Development Association proposed an amendment to BOCC Agreement 6-2024 to provide up to $15,000 per year for three years (2025'027) to maintain an annually updated site-availability website that integrates county GIS with municipal data. Jonathan and Commissioner Amanda McKinney said the online tool helps the SIED Board and Department of Commerce by providing current parcel, zoning and utility information for potential investments.
Commissioners agreed to move forward with the contract amendment as an alternative to a longer static site-availability analysis that can become outdated. The amendment was presented as a cost-effective, annually refreshed resource to support rural economic development and project review.
