Water and sewer department reports repairs at Blue Mountain and routine plant maintenance

Patrick Mahoney, superintendent of sewer and water, reported that Collett Chemicals visited the Blue Mt. Lake water plant to inspect a pipe issue and will return to complete pre-fab work and repairs. Mahoney told the board the town had at least two days' worth of water in the tank while repairs are scheduled.
The written December operations report submitted to the board noted that state-required DOH and DEC samples were submitted, new inline pH probes were installed at the Indian Lake water plant, a water-main leak on Chain Lakes Road was repaired, and the wastewater plant blower system required electrical work due to corroded wiring. Mahoney also reported two hydronic heaters at the Blue Mountain process room need new motors and fan blades; one motor and one fan were obtained while the other parts remain on backorder.
No action items or additional appropriations were recorded at the Jan. 8 meeting; the superintendent reported ongoing inventory work on lead and copper services and routine winter maintenance.
