Board offers Town Mechanic position to Jacob Wells after executive session

Following executive sessions on Oct. 2 and Oct. 24, the board moved to offer the Town Mechanic position to Jacob Wells and approved the hire by roll call.
After entering executive session to discuss personnel for the Town Mechanic position, the Town Board resumed the budget workshop and moved to offer the job to candidate Jacob Wells. Councilperson Howard made the motion to offer the Town Mechanic position to Jacob Wells, seconded by Councilperson Mahoney; Councilpersons Rathbun, Mahoney and Howard voted Aye and the motion carried.
Minutes record the earlier executive session at 7:06 p.m. with Supervisor Wells and Councilperson Eldridge recusing and Councilperson Rathbun running the meeting; the board reported that no formal action was taken during the executive session itself. The hire motion was made after the board exited executive session and reconvened the public workshop. The town will complete standard onboarding steps and post the personnel appointment in the meeting minutes.
