The Town Board worked through a draft local law (Section 532.1) that would regulate commercial travel trailer parks, campgrounds and campsites. Reviewer Julie Peterson provided written comments, and the board accepted multiple edits to clarify terminology and align licensing language: the draft replaces "use permit" with "commercial license" and changes phrasing such as "conspicuously" to "clearly displayed at all times."
On operational standards, the board agreed to change parking language so that planning-board/site-plan review will determine parking and the draft now allows a maximum of two parking spaces per campsite (with overflow parking provided elsewhere as needed). The board removed the requirement to mark every site corner but will require a site number clearly displayed for emergency/fire access. Item 16's list of adverse conditions was trimmed to remove "smoke" and "heat" to avoid conflict with normal campfire use. Generator hours were revised to "per campground rules" with a suggested 10:00 p.m. cap; minimum campsite size was clarified to 1,500 square feet. The fee schedule was finalized in draft as $50 per year for up to 10 campsites and $1 per additional site, with an effective date noted as May 1, 2027. Attorney Graham was asked to review and finalize definitions (Travel Trailer, Motorhome, Recreational Vehicle) to insert "temporary living" language where appropriate and to confirm that mobile/manufactured homes are excluded as permanent HUD-code structures under New York State rules.
