Huron planning board tables paid parking study after consultant cost estimate

The Town of Huron Planning Board discussed proposed parking regulations and materials provided by consultant MRB at its Feb. 5 meeting. Chairman George Steffler said MRB's cost estimate for a formal parking study was higher than the board wanted and suggested any substantial expenditure would be better spent on the town's comprehensive plan or on other committees. He reported consulting Supervisor Dave Fantuzzo and Dave Doyle while reviewing the materials.
Steffler also described a review of Sodus Point's parking approach and said the board needs to ensure disabled/handicap parking is properly addressed in future work. The chair announced the parking regulations item would be tabled until the board's next meeting to allow further review of options and costs.
