During the public forum, John Reinink (speaker 4) identified himself as a long‑time Piedmont resident and head coach of the Piedmont High School mountain biking team. He said the team keeps a trailer with bikes and loaner gear in an off‑site Richmond storage facility and that a loaner bike was recently stolen after a break‑in. "Right now, this trailer sits in a storage facility in Richmond where we pay a $125 a month to lease a parking space," he said, and asked whether the city or school could provide a parking option in town given the trailer is used only 6–10 times a year.
Reinink told council the team launched a petition in support of relocating the trailer and had "at last count, I think, a 103 signatories to this petition." He asked staff to suggest city property, school district property or other local parking options and said he was open to ideas and help in locating a secure spot.
