Director Shelley Putzler told commissioners that the winter/spring activity guide for 2026 had been released and listed a series of family-focused events: "Lights Up" on Dec. 3, Donuts and Draitels on Dec. 13, a Santa-themed event on Dec. 14 and a noon New Year's celebration on Dec. 31. She said resident registration opens Dec. 2 and nonresident registration opens Dec. 9 at 6 p.m.
Putzler also summarized program participation: the department estimates roughly 150–200 attendees at the recent try-it-out Tuesdays series (about 156 registered with higher walk-in numbers), 51 teams in rec basketball and roughly 100 participants expected in K–1 basketball. She asked commissioners to note facility rental timelines (2027 calendar opens Jan. 7) and flagged scheduling constraints for rescheduling meetings in December when the building hosts multiple groups.
