Council adopts two fee ordinances in single readings to implement 2027 budget

City Manager Melba Hilson introduced both measures as formalities related to fees approved in the 2027 budget and asked the council to consider suspending rules to adopt them on first reading. "I ask you all to consider to suspend the and approve them tonight with the 1st rate if that's your desire," Hilson said. The council moved, seconded, and approved both ordinances by roll-call votes; the clerk announced the motions carried.
Because the council adopted both measures after suspending the rules, each ordinance becomes effective under the terms stated in its caption. The city manager said the fee changes reflect budgetary work done earlier this year and were intended to finalize implementation details approved during budget adoption.
