Supervisor Dave Fantuzzo moved for adoption and Councilmember Phil Eygnor seconded; Attorney Amy Kendall confirmed notice was published in the Times of Wayne County and posted on the town sign board and website. The board directed that the enacted local law be filed with the Secretary of State as required by Municipal Home Rule Law. The adoption was classified as a Type II action under SEQRA (6 N.Y.C.R.R. §617.5(c)(20,27)).
The action allows the town to set a tax levy above the statutory cap for 2025 if the board determines it necessary. The board noted the preliminary 2025 budget reflects less than a 0.1% increase and that a public hearing on the budget is set for Nov. 7, 2024.
