Smith-Green lists capital priorities: buses, gym floors, track fencing and parking

During the budget presentation, the staff member walked the board through a capital project list described as a multi-year "wish list" and identified near-term and ongoing items. The list included a special-education bus in 2027, two passenger buses in 2028, smaller 14-passenger buses in 2029 and a larger bus in 2030; staff also highlighted classroom furniture replacement, track-area fencing and discus-cage work, parking improvements, and scoreboards for baseball and football.
The staff member described gym-floor and stage refinishing and routine maintenance (bleacher backstops, batting cages and inspections), along with carpet replacement for elementary and junior–senior classrooms. The presentation positioned some projects (for example, a parking-lot paving project) as aspirational depending on funding, and staff said projects can be adjusted if bond proceeds or other revenues change.
