"So that's the trims that go out to every single, parcel owner in Baker County. We are actually invoiced for that and, statutorily, we're required to pay that," the presenter said, adding the postage is typically a one-time invoice toward the end of the budget year.
Commissioners asked whether the high postage year (one line jumped from roughly $17,000 to $247,000 in the packet comparisons) represented a permanent change or a one-time billing pattern. Staff said the invoiced amount varies with the number of notices and that they would double-check vendor billing and whether costs had been charged to other accounts (for example, postage machines in other departments).
