Trustees approved the low bid recommended by the engineer for the Mearns Avenue paving project and awarded the contract to Ward Paving for $117,200. Officials said one bid was rejected after an email exchange with the engineer showed the bidder’s documents were incorrect; the difference between the low bidders was nominal and the project remains within budget.
Mayor DeSalvo said the project is still slated to be completed this year and that contractors agreed the work should take roughly three days of active work on site. Trustees voted to award the contract following a motion and second.
