County reports $7.4M ConnectALL award; broadband service expected Q3 2025 in Italy

Yates County Legislator Doug Paddock updated the board on county projects, saying the new county facility is largely complete and will host an open house May 17, 2025 from 8 a.m. to noon. He reported Yates County received a $7.4 million NYS ConnectALL grant for broadband expansion; the county plans to issue an RFP for public transportation and expects residents in Italy, Middlesex and Jerusalem to be able to connect in the third quarter of 2025.
Paddock also listed several observances and events (Crime Victims Rights Week April 6–12; Public Safety Telecommunications Week April 13–19; Police Officers Memorial Day May 15; May designated Mental Health Month) and noted local infrastructure schedules including milling of Guyanoga Valley Road in summer 2025 and a household hazardous waste collection at the county fairgrounds in September.
