The Floodwood Public School District facilities committee met April 28 and reviewed contractor findings about building heating, ventilation and boiler systems that officials said have contributed to humid, stuffy conditions in the gym.
According to the minutes, Jamar’s findings were reviewed noting the gym air handlers were set to manual at 20 percent, a steam leak in the boiler room and dirty air handler filters. Committee members recorded that Jamar will present a full HVAC controls audit and an audit of boiler hydronic system equipment at the regular board meeting tonight for further recommendations and potential budget requests. Facilities Manager Al Clark and Superintendent Sue Hoeft were listed as the staff coordinating next steps.
