The Italy Town Board opened its Jan. 14 organizational meeting at Italy Town Hall and adopted its 2025 organizational framework, including deputy appointments and pay schedules. Supervisor Richard Craig presided; the board recorded deputy assignments (Malcolm MacKenzie as deputy supervisor; Duke Clark as deputy highway superintendent; Leanne Parsell as deputy registrar of vital statistics and deputy town clerk/tax collector; Shaylynn Whipple as second deputy) and re-established the procurement and investment policies.
The board also set hourly and annual compensation for town positions. Examples included MEO hourly rates ($22.00 and $24.85 for named employees), HEO $27.00, cleaning personnel $15.50/hour, and annual salaries such as Highway Superintendent $70,000, CEO $18,926, Town Clerk $11,870 and Tax Collector $3,374. The board scheduled regular monthly meetings for the second Tuesday at 7:00 PM at Italy Town Hall.
