Rainier Foothills Wellness Foundation reports school mental-health reach and senior meal service metrics

Tammy Verhus, interim executive director of the Rainier Foothills Wellness Foundation, presented the organization's recent results to the Eden Plus City Council and described both school-based mental-health services and the foundation's senior hot-meals program. "We have served a total of 82 students," Verhus said, specifying 62 students at Enumclaw High School, nine at Enumclaw Middle School and 11 at Thunder Mountain.
Verhus said behavioral-intervention metrics improved from an average of 0.69 to 1.016 (which she characterized as a roughly 32 percent improvement) and that the students' average GPA rose modestly ("a slight increase," she said, about 1.25 percent). On senior services, Verhus said the foundation currently serves 66 seniors with planned deliveries and that "there's about 400 meals prepared from scratch each week" supported by roughly 87 volunteers. She thanked the council for prior support and invited follow-up questions or contact through foundation staff.
