BEDC approves amendment to allow Accutronics reimbursement for certain site-planning costs

The Bastrop Economic Development Corporation board voted Aug. 29, 2025 to amend a performance agreement with Accutronics to allow reimbursement for certain site-planning and civil engineering expenses tied to a proposed headquarters project. A BEDC staff member told directors the change is intended to help move a multi-phase development forward.

"In January 2024, Accutronic purchased a 13.84 acre tract in the Business Industrial Park and plans to develop their global headquarters right here in the city of Bastrop," the staff member said, describing a project with a highlighted phase 1 of about 70,000 square feet intended for aerospace manufacturing and an overall five-phase plan. The staff member said the BEDC has committed $1,000,000 toward infrastructure to make the site shovel-ready and that legal review found the current agreement does not explicitly provide for reimbursement of civil engineering or similar soft costs.

Staff recommended a narrow amendment allowing reimbursement for certain site-planning expenses. A board member moved to amend the agreement and the motion was seconded. The chair called a voice vote and, after members responded in the affirmative, "The motion carries," approving the amendment to Resolution R-2025-0013.

The presenter said the amendment is expected to help partners including Bastrop Independent School District, which the presenter highlighted for its apprenticeship program with Accutronics.
