Park project advances after DCNR paperwork accepted; fences removed and site prep to begin

Township officials said the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) has accepted park paperwork and the township received approval to move forward with site work.
"All the paperwork is in the DCNR and accepted and approved," the park presenter said, noting a call is scheduled to coordinate transferring funds and enable payment of contractor invoices. Board members reported fences around the site came down immediately after the authority learned of the approval and work such as parking-area grading and handicap access improvements will start this week.
Officials described the progress as the culmination of a long-delayed project that dates back several years. The township will track DCNR reimbursements to cover temporary payments already authorized.
