Council approves multiple commission and committee appointments

Nominations approved included Joe Rasick for the Citizens Oversight Committee, Greg LaPorte for the Financial Audit Oversight Committee, Cassie Queen for the Historical Committee, Billy Hutchinson for the Parks, Arts and Recreation Commission and David Smith for the Planning Commission.
Councilmembers discussed a remaining contested nomination for the Vector Control District seat and followed a nomination procedure under Robert's Rules; a nomination was approved by recorded vote. The council also noted open vacancies on the Senior Advisory and Heritage committees and encouraged residents to apply.
The mayor closed the appointments item and the meeting moved to the remaining business items.
