The City Council adopted a state‑issued fire hazard severity zone map for Placentia’s Local Responsibility Area by a 5–0 vote on June 3.
Fire Marshal Amanda Horner told the council that the map, issued to the city in March, identifies approximately 22 parcels at the city’s northern tip across very high, high and moderate hazard zones. Horner recommended adoption to remain in compliance with state regulations and said the Fire and Life Safety Department will establish a defensible‑space program and implement vegetation management consistent with the city's existing ordinance.
Councilmembers asked no substantive questions and moved to adopt; the motion passed unanimously.
