Franklin authorizes sale of surplus police vehicles including a 2021 Dodge Charger

The Franklin City Commission approved adding several police vehicles to the city's surplus list after staff determined trading them in provided insufficient return. Trent Koff told the commission one vehicle is a 2021 Dodge Charger and that six additional police vehicles would be added to the surplus list; the commission authorized the mayor to sign all documents related to disposal.
Koff said staff initially planned a trade-in but concluded the paperwork, anticipated return and time required made trading in the vehicles not worth pursuing: “1 was a 2021 Dodge Charger.” The motion to declare the vehicles surplus and allow sale was moved by Commissioner Powell and seconded by Commissioner Bush and carried on the recorded vote in the meeting segments.
