The commission approved adding several vehicles to the city’s surplus property list after city staff said trade-in paperwork and low returns made swapping impractical.
Trent Koff told the commission one item omitted from the earlier list was a 2021 Dodge Charger and that six additional police department vehicles should be declared surplus. “1 was a 2021 Dodge Charger. And, there is 6 more,” Koff said, explaining the decision to place the vehicles on the surplus list rather than pursue trades. The motion to declare the presented vehicles surplus and authorize the mayor to sign sale documents was moved (by Commissioner Powell), seconded (by Commissioner Bush) and passed on roll call.
City staff did not provide sales timing or estimated proceeds during the public meeting. The authorization allows the mayor to sign any documents necessary to complete surplus dispositions.
