Paul Mintz, superintendent for water and sewer, told the board the lead-line survey results were turned in to MJ Engineering for submittal ahead of the Oct. 15 deadline and that MJ Engineering completed a water system improvement report intended to support upcoming upgrades.
Mintz also announced staffing and compliance items: "Assistant Operator Dan McDonald passed his C/D test with 92% - now scheduled for Lab Class," and the annual Department of Health inspection went well; the town was approved to install alternative fencing at the water plant that will reduce costs. Hydrant flushing and other routine maintenance work are underway.
The board received an update on the water meter project and the wastewater upgrade engineering work; MJ Engineering costs for related work were approved for prepayment at the meeting so engineering can proceed, and town staff said 40% of that MJ Engineering prepayment will be recovered from the Town of Black Brook.
