At its August meeting the Delaware Muncie Metropolitan Planning Commission produced two formal recommendations on rezoning cases:
• MPC 05‑26Z (7600 S. State Road 67) — Motion for a favorable recommendation failed on roll call (2 yes, 6 no). The commission recorded an unfavorable recommendation that will be forwarded to the County Commissioners; the county hearing is scheduled for Aug. 17 at 9 a.m. The commission noted the applicant may still build a pole barn and store nonbusiness‑registered vehicles, but that showroom or business storage would require business zoning.
• MPC 07‑26Z (NE corner of East Riggan Road & Old State Road 3) — The commission voted 7–1 in favor of forwarding a favorable recommendation to City Council; City Council will consider the case on Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. Staff reiterated that rezoning establishes allowable uses in the zone and that development and corridor standards will still govern any future design.
