Carol Stream swears in two new police officers who will start basic academy

The Village of Carol Stream administered the oath of office to two new police officers during the board meeting, Mayor Savarino and Police Chief present to introduce the hires. "We are pleased to welcome Amanda Mushel and Braden Kittle to the Carol Stream Police Department," Chief said as families and colleagues looked on.
Chief told the board that both recruits "demonstrated the character, work ethic, and commitment to public service that we seek in our officers." The chief said the officers will begin a 16-week Basic Law Enforcement Academy at the Macon County Law Enforcement Training Center later this month. Mayor Savarino and trustees offered congratulations and a standing ovation. The mayor added, "welcome to Carol Stream," as the board noted community support for the department.
