On equity work, Ruka said the district started equity teams in each of the five buildings and ran facilitator training; he described a full‑day facilitated session attended by roughly 25–30 people and said building facilitators will meet repeatedly and bring training back to local teams to identify disproportionality and plan actions. "We did start equity teams in each of the 5 buildings," he told the board.
Ruka asked the board to consider a community forum to report back on equity, the district's portrait of a graduate and safety upgrades, proposing a multi‑station format with food to encourage participation and suggested scheduling the event after the holidays, likely in January.
