At the March 26 advisory council meeting, Tiger Club staff reported enrollment and operational plans for the upcoming summer. Minutes state there are about 180 students registered for summer programming (compared with about 200 last year) and a little over 100 registered for the school-year program; staff expect continued growth. Summer will be located full time at the Primary School and will include six field trips, themed weeks, and an end-of-summer party.
The club will again provide transportation for participating students, supporting more than 50 children. A city grant application to offset transportation costs was denied; to cover expenses the program will charge families a one-time fee of $15. The Minnesota Horticultural Society will provide garden boxes at the Primary School for Tiger Club students to tend over the summer.
