Amy Moore, General Counsel, presented first readings of several policy updates at the Sept. 24 meeting of Independent School District 279.
Items included proposed repeal of Policy and Procedure 432 (Teacher Involuntary Transfer Process) and proposed edits to Policy 441 (Digital Technologies & Digital Systems Acceptable Use) in the 400 personnel series; proposed repeal of Policy 640 (Class Size and Student-Teacher Staffing Ratio) and proposed edits to Policy and Procedure 652 (Instructional and Library Materials Selection and Reevaluation) in the 600 educational program series; and statutory updates to Policy and Procedure 507 (Corporal Punishment and Prone Restraint) in the 500 students series. The minutes state Policy 652 will receive further discussion at a work session of the full board.
