Saint Croix Central projects balanced 2026-27 budget amid modest enrollment decline

The presenter attributed most operating revenue to two sources: general state aid and the property tax levy, which together account for nearly 74% of operating revenue. For 2627 the district projected a 3.7% increase in total revenue driven by property-tax increases and open enrollment, and said the fund-10 budget remains balanced at about $28.6 million, with a projected fund balance reduction from 17.68% to 17.05%. The presenter also noted program and staffing adjustments: additions to virtual staffing, a 2.63% staff-cost increase tied to CPI, a 2% substitute increase, and the elimination of two elementary full-time positions; the presentation listed roughly $80,000 of added virtual curriculum and $40,000 for grounds work.
