Supervisor reported a neighborhood‑watch program initiated in partnership with Black Brook, with the next meeting scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 15 at 6 p.m. at the community center gym; the plan includes coordination with the Essex County Sheriff's Department for law‑enforcement input. The town also purchased neighborhood‑watch signs to standardize signage across nearby communities.
The board said Essex County IT has upgraded Internet connections at the community center and water plant and will help install wireless bridges and cloud‑based cameras at the Grove Park and other sites when equipment arrives and costs are approved. “We will be running wireless bridges from community center to that part behind Tops ... and we'll be running a wireless bridge from the water plant to the Grove Park so that we have cameras in those locations,” the supervisor said.
