Officials said, after state rebates and program incentives, the town's net cost could be roughly $30,000–$35,000 and the system might save an estimated $6,000–$7,000 a year in electricity costs, producing a payback in about five years. “So we did get the $50,000 grant approved on the way,” Councilor Sauer said; the board voted to authorize the bid process.
