Board considers paving options, approves Au Sable Drive dedication request and purchases tractor

Supervisor Stanley presented the highway written report from Chris Sorrell noting that zero bids were received for paving; the board directed Sorrell to get pricing for the town to purchase paving equipment so it could offer paving services to other towns. The board also approved a motion requesting Essex County take over Au Sable Drive (Resolution #2024-210) and approved surplusing the message board (Resolution #2024-211).
Separately the board authorized payment of $27,720 to Auctions International for the purchase of a 2008 John Deere 100HP tractor with boom mower (motion made by Councilman Tom McDonald, second by Councilman Knut Sauer), recorded in the minutes as Resolution #2024-2012. The highway report also noted ongoing road maintenance, replacement culverts, and that new highway hire Craig Benway has filled department staffing needs.
