Committee member Paul Benway said he will undergo shoulder surgery on Oct. 18, 2024, and provided an estimated recovery window of four to 12 months. Paul said he will train new hire Brooke Paries before his surgery.
The committee recorded that Brooke Paries is scheduled to begin employment on Sept. 30, 2024; her prior work included the Town of Wilmington Parks department and roles in Lake Placid/North Elba water and sewer. Committee members said that, with Brooke joining the staff, the Town has included a full‑time Parks position in the proposed 2025 budget to support daily park checks and maintenance tasks.
