Sandra Stone, Patrick County treasurer, presented the year‑end fiscal report for the period ending June 30, 2026. She said the county carried forward a net general fund balance of $13,000,009.47, an increase of $295,008.52 from the prior fiscal year.
Stone outlined that carryover funds generally come from unspent department budgets, revenues exceeding budgeted amounts and unspent prior carryover. She reported contingency‑fund balances and interest earnings and said delinquent‑tax procedures remain in place including DMV stops, wage garnishments, bank liens and judicial sales, while her office offers payment plans for residents experiencing hardship.
Stone provided tax‑collection percentages for recent years: 98.61% for 2024 personal property, 94.72% for 2025 personal property, 99.59% for 2023 real estate, 99.3% for 2024 real estate and 97.7% for 2025 real estate. She said first‑half collections for 2026 were 95.62% through the first half of the year. Stone encouraged residents in hardship to contact the treasurer’s office for assistance.
