Finance director reports unaudited cash, fund balances and mixed sales-tax signals

Robin, the committee's finance presenter, gave the monthly cash and fund-balance report, describing the figures as unaudited and noting the county had not closed June yet.
"The general fund, total fund balance, 10,001,646, with unassigned fund balance currently at 8,600,000," Robin said, adding that some revenue for FY25/26 has not yet come in. Robin told commissioners that cash is down compared with the prior July but that revenue coming in later in the year should improve the position.
Robin also reviewed June sales-tax numbers and said the county portion for the month was down about 3.4% while year-to-date measures showed gains. The presenter emphasized cash flow timing, noting that the county often spends from prior-year cash early in the fiscal year before receipts arrive.
