Will Stelter, engineering manager, asked the committee to authorize staff to advertise bids for the Madden Creek Water System Improvement Project Phase 4 — the fourth and final phase of the Madden distribution-system rebuild in Homewood — and said design and permit work are in progress.
"The current engineer's estimate is 7,658,000," Stelter said. He told the committee staff is targeting an early March bid opening and a March award, which would enable construction work to start in summer if financing and permits remain on track.
Members asked a few timing questions about the bid opening and award schedule; staff said financing work is ongoing with the finance department and that they expect to return with an authorization in time for a March award. The committee recommended the authorization for the consent agenda.
