Staff introduced the HR update (speaker introduced as Katie) and said January was dominated by recruitment and retirements. The HR manager reported two official retirements and that the district had opened recruitment for a parks and recreation administrative technician role, drawing "quite a large response, over 250 applicants." She said second-round interviews were underway and the department hopes to select a candidate in one to two weeks.
The HR report also said the district is continuing recruitment for an electrician (few qualified local candidates) and plans to open a senior utilities operations specialist position in February; staff said they expect some overlap for transitions but likely only a few days of overlap between outgoing and incoming employees.
