Presenter introduced an updated capital asset and supplies-inventory policy (Policy 2100) intended to replace an outdated 2007 policy. Presenter said the rewrite aims to shorten and clarify policy-level requirements, remove procedural detail, and align thresholds with auditor recommendations and other local districts.
"The main changes are increases in our thresholds, for what we need to require is capitalization from 5,000 to 25,000," Presenter said, noting exceptions when federal or grant dollars are used (those would follow a $10,000 per-year threshold). Board members discussed separating policy from procedure and asked that staff communicate changes and provide any necessary training to departmental staff who will implement the policy.
