Jenni Ebert, Director of Community Education, asked the board to approve updates to the district’s facility rental program that would take effect July 1, 2025. The proposal keeps most rental rates as-is but increases personnel/staffing fees (building supervisors, custodial and auditorium/tech support) by $3 per hour to reflect contracted wage and benefit increases. "We are recommending all rental fees remain unchanged except for a $3 per hour increase to personnel/staffing fees," Ebert wrote in the board materials.
Ebert also proposed new administrative fees to improve scheduling reliability and recover staff time: a 10% non‑refundable deposit for auditorium performance rentals, a $15 fee for change requests to an existing permit, and a $25 fee for new rental requests made within 14 days of an event. The board packet explains the deposit is meant to reduce last‑minute cancellations for complex auditorium events and that the change and short‑notice fees help offset extra staff time. The recommended action in the packet asked the board to "approve and authorize the District administration to enforce the rental rates described in the enclosed attachment."
