Board authorizes professional services agreement with Ward Young for roof project oversight

Engineering manager Will Stelter presented a companion item asking the board to enter into a professional services agreement with Ward Young Architects for construction-based services on the roof replacement project. Stelter said the architects will provide construction observation, responses to RFIs and mechanical-engineer coordination — particularly for the project's ice-melt system — to ensure correct installation. "This is to enter into a professional services agreement for construction based services from our architect and his team, Ward Young's team," Stelter said.
Board members asked no substantive questions; staff recommended approval and the board approved the amendment on a voice vote. Staff said the services are intended to ensure the construction is executed correctly and to respond to technical issues during construction; the district will track RFI and construction observation deliverables through its project management process.
