Interim Airport Director Brandon Dambeck told council that the Airport Fund plans to staff 16 full-time positions next year, adding one business specialist; one other position was included in the budget amendment. He said a private company’s parking concession proposal should be ready for a Council lease vote in August and that some revenue is expected to begin early next year.
Dambeck said the airport increased outside legal services for airline scheduling systems work and is exploring additions such as a programmable message board and a potable-water cabinet that could be metered to airlines. On land-use concerns, he noted Citrus Park Village remains an incompatible land use and staff awaits FAA approval relating to that site. Council asked for references and additional contract review before finalizing any parking concession agreements.
