Board approves consent agenda, unanimously backs OSBA LPC candidate Janet Holland
Summary
At its Nov. 12 meeting the Brookings-Harbor School Board approved its consent agenda 5–0 and voted unanimously to cast its OSBA Legislative Policy Committee ballot for Janet Holland, directing the board secretary to submit the ballot.
The Brookings-Harbor School District Board voted unanimously to approve the Consent Agenda and subsequently cast its OSBA Legislative Policy Committee ballot in support of Janet Holland.
Director Janece Payne moved to approve the Consent Agenda; Director Alan Nidiffer seconded and the Board called the vote. The official roll call recorded KJ, JP, AN, TW and JT all voting Aye and the motion passed 5–0. Later in the meeting, Chair Jay Trost moved that the Board cast its LPC ballot in favor of Janet Holland; Director Katherine Johnson seconded. The Board again voted 5–0 in support and directed the Board Secretary to submit the ballot on behalf of the BHSD Board.
The OSBA ballot discussion referenced candidate materials and an endorsement email from regional representative Jackie Crook noting Holland’s activity in the OSBA Rural Caucus and recommending she would advocate for rural districts.
