The Brookings-Harbor School Board on Nov. 12, 2025 agreed by consensus to pursue a May 2026 general obligation bond election and signaled a preference for a 10-year term focused on “warm, safe, and dry” infrastructure projects. The Board asked staff and financial advisor Piper Sandler to model additional levy scenarios around an estimated $0.50–$0.55 per $1,000 of assessed value and to return with refined project lists and cost estimates.
Piper Sandler staff and district officials emphasized the timing was chosen to improve competitiveness for state matching funds and to avoid the heightened political activity of the November 2026 general election. According to the minutes, the Board “expressed support for pursuing a May 2026 general obligation bond election.” The Board directed staff to file OSCIM program paperwork (notice of interest by Dec. 1; full application by Dec. 15) and to prepare a draft ballot-title framework once OSCIM status is known.
