Staff introduced Resolution 2026-TBD sponsored by Mayor Michael Garcia and multiple councilors proposing four ballot questions to be submitted to City of Santa Fe voters at the November 3, 2026 general election. The resolution, as read into the record, described four authorizations: (1) up to $1,111,250,000 for citywide streets, sidewalks, curb ramps and pedestrian accessibility improvements; (2) up to $4,500,000 for municipal recreation and Soccer Valley improvements; (3) up to $4,250,000 for Swan Park splash pad and related improvements; and (4) up to $5,000,000 for Midtown capital improvements. The transcript also listed a “total maximum principal amount of $25,000,000” when the line items were summarized; staff said they are continuing to work with bond counsel on projections and estimates.
Councilors thanked staff for work already done on analysis and projections and requested additional questions and details ahead of the governing body discussion. One councilor encouraged colleagues to submit questions in advance for staff to coordinate with bond counsel so the governing body and the public can review cost projections and specific project scopes before the ballot language is finalized.
