Committee asks about staffing, savings use and volunteer recruitment as part of budget review

Aaron Lee asked how much of the district’s savings would be used; Wang explained how savings are factored into the budget. Several members asked whether staff had been notified and Superintendent Drill said he had visited buildings and "assured all staff that they will have a job in 2026-2027 and we are also able to honor the union agreements currently in place."
Wendy Coates asked whether positions vacated by resignations or retirements would be replaced; Drill said each vacancy is reviewed with HR and some positions will be absorbed through attrition and others filled. Lee urged more proactive volunteer recruitment at the secondary level to support programs and reduce pressure on staff.
