Board: petroleum storage tanks passed DEC inspection; safety devices ordered

The Chair reported the town's petroleum storage tanks were recently inspected and permitted. "They have been tested by an independent testing company. They've been inspected by the DEC on June 26. We have a current New York State DEC Petroleum Bulk Storage certificate. Tanks are currently in compliance," the Chair said.
The Chair said two safety items — a catchment device on the fill and an overflow-prevention device — are on order and, if access and schedule allow, "should be done by tomorrow." He added that, while dispensing is operable, installation of the SmartFill tank-monitoring system remains delayed due to lack of access to the highway garage.
