Junius board votes to pursue purchase of vacant house at 533 Dublin Road

The Town Board of Junius discussed purchase of an abandoned house at 533 Dublin Road during its Jan. 15 meeting. Supervisor Ernie Brownell said buying the property could expand town-owned land and help fix an ongoing flooding issue by installing a ditch. Highway Superintendent Dave Fisk supported the idea of acquiring the parcel to improve drainage.
Councilman Randy Wadhams moved to make a 'best and final offer' to the Smith Farm for the property; Councilman Rick Wadhams seconded the motion and the board approved it 5-0. Supervisor Brownell will inquire about the seller's asking price and report back to the board.
