Trustee reports new village signs, completed murals and plans to apply for community grant for dog park

Trustee Simko updated the board that village signs were installed by DPW crew members and that solar lights have been ordered for installation soon. She thanked Ken, Don and Gordy of the DPW for their work and said the three murals are complete and ready to be installed, with a likely dedication in spring 2025.
Simko said she is exploring placing a television in the boardroom for meetings and presentations. She also said she will apply for a community grant and offered two suggested projects — a mule statue or a dog park — and that the general consensus of the board favored a dog park.
Separately, Simko reported that all three boards, their liaisons and the historians have agreed to continue talks about consolidating offices and archives; the historians continue to look for suitable locations and will meet again Oct. 29, 2024 to advance the discussions.
